Jack Dexter won the Bronze Cup 12 months ago, while Goldie also has Hawkeyethenoo, ridden by Kieren Fallon, although he has fared no better than 10th in the last three renewals. Hawkeyethenoo has been drawn in stall nine.Trainer Jim Goldie has made no secret of his ambition to win the famous race which has eluded the home trainers since 1975, when Roman Warrior claimed the prize for Nigel Angus.

Goldie expects the race to unfold along the centre of the track, He told Racing UK: "I came to the conclusion that the middle is probably where the race is going to develop this year so I've stuck both my horses in the middle of the middle.

"If it develops down the rail we'll go down the rail and if it develops down the middle we're OK. We're just playing the percentage card."

Last year's winner Captain Ramius goes from stall eight, while well-fancied Topics will leave from 26.
