SATURDAY'S big handicap – the Stewart Family Thank You Gold Cup at Cheltenham – will feature a likely field of just 13 following declarations on this morning.
Spirit and Colour Squadron lead the betting at 9-2 for the Stewart Family Thank You Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday. Just three-quarters of a length separated the pair last time out over the course and distance, with Jonjo O’Neill’s gelding coming out on top. Colour Squadron has been particularly popular in the William Hill shops, whilst Johns Spirit has been steadily backed online.
Grandioso has more than halved in price from 14-1 a week ago in to 6-1. Attaglance has also come in from 10-1 in to 8-1 over the last 24 hours.
Liam Glynn, of Boylesports, said: "In the past 24 hours Double Ross has been the best-backed horse and is our worst result at present as we have laid him at odds of 16/1 and he has now shortened into 10/1.
“It’s an ultra-competitive race and we’ve seen an even spread across most of the leading contenders, but Grandioso is the most interesting mover with a steady flow of money on the Nicholls’ horse,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
