Saturday Ascot Pointers
An interesting day's worth of racing today at Ascot, with the highlight being the Long Walk Hurdle, and we have come up with a list of pointers for each race for your consideration.
12.45 – 3m 0f Class 4 Foundation Developments Novices Handicap Hurdle.
The Tourad Man 3/1. The Alan King inmate sets a decent start here having won over slightly further last time in a novices' event and starting life in handicaps makes plenty of appeal. Will be an interesting horse when goes chasing.
1.15 – 2m 5f 110yds Class 2 David Johnson Shawbrook Bank Graduation Chase.
Puffin Billy 2/1. Improved on 2nd chase satrt when upped in trip last time over these fences and looks to have more improvement to come. Should enjpoy the extra yardage again
1.50 – 2m 1f Class 3 BGC Partners Handicap Chase.
Ballygarvey 9/2. Has been off the track over a year but if came back fully wound up could be very hard to stop today. Handicapper given some slack and this reperesents a less competitive affair that had been involved in on recent starts.
2.25 – 3m 1f Class 1 JLT Long Walk Hurdle.
Zarkander 5/4. Not a particularly exciting betting proposition but Zarkander will be hard to stop here.
3.00 – 3m 0f Class 1 Mappin and Webb Silver Cup Handicap Chase.
Ardkilly Witness 13/2 EW. Shaped with promise last time out over C&D and only raised 1lb with TOm Scu booked and first time visor on can get back to winning ways today.
3.30 – 2m 0f Class 1 Ladbroke.
Sea Beat 16/1 EW. A tough betting propostition and not one to get carried away with, make sure you take up the 5 places for each way bets that several bookies are paying. Preference here is for the Irish representitive who although is running from a couple of lb out of the weights is still very much unexposed and can get involved in this.
Good luck and enjoy the day's racing!
